On 27 September 2023, we were pleased and honoured to receive the European Health Leadership Award 2023 from the renowned European Health Forum Gastein (EHFG), for our Fighting Fatigue Together collaborative campaign.
The European Health Leadership Award (EHLA) showcases and supports the achievements of organisations that display exceptional leadership in safeguarding or improving the health of people in the WHO European Region. The Award, which includes prize money of EUR 10.000, is funded by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Social Affairs, Health, Care and Consumer Protection.

This year, as the EHFG focused on “Health systems on crisis – countering shockwaves and fatigue”, the EHLA sought to highlight an ongoing grassroot initiative from an organisation that is working to build more sustainable and shock-proof health systems in Europe.

Fatigue affects the well-being and safety of health professionals with greater intensity and on a larger scale than ever before, contributing to unprecedented levels of burnout, mental health problems and staff shortages. Much needs to be done. This award encourages us to redouble our efforts to protect healthcare workers and their patients from fatigue-related risks and make this everyone's concern."
